REF MHCF Tiens 305/2007 Date 10 – 10 - 2007
Respected and Honoured Sir,

On behalf of Mosjos Healthcare Research Foundation & Charitable Trust feel it a great pleasure and honour to write to you We are doing Social Service work among the poorest of the poor Narikuravars. I am very much interested to work for the poor uncared people and their upliftment. We running the Mosjos Healthcare Research Foundation and Charitable Trust for the Past thirteen years.
In South India especially in Tamilnadu Gypsies are called as Nari Kuravar.
They live by catching small birds, squirrels, stray cats etc. They don't have a proper house
to live and they live on the streets. During the rainy season their sufferings are great and
can't be expressed by mere words. They are the most pitiable and pathetic beings on the
earth. They don't have proper food, clothing and health. They don't send their children to school but make them to beg and collect the rubbish and waste materials [even waste and spoiled food] from dustbin and garbage for their food. They are called untouchables and no body cares for them ,including the Government. They are not allowed to have their food in hotels. (This question does not arise as they do not have money to enjoy this facility). But when they sell the dust bin collections and have substantial amount to pay for a packet meal they have to stand out side the hotel entrance and wait for a long time to collect the packets though they are paying the same amount of money as others pay. They don't even have the basic right to enjoy the freedom and legitimate claim. They are considered to be evil tribes meant for crimes even though most of them are innocent. They are the first people to be suspected and tortured by Police department whenever a crime occurs in neighbourhood.
We have selected Thiruvanmiyur Narikuravars for our first Project. NK. Traditionally they
are not interested to use the Medicines as they were used to their own ointments and other
herbs. The pettiest thing is for the cure of Jaundice they used to burn their hand with some
thing with the belief that will help them. Ultimately they die of the disease. This is one
example of their medical treatment. The funniest thing is that When they are not allowed in
the hotels or place of worship they do not allow ordinary people like us to sit in their mats.
They feel it as Theetu (Dirty). We have slowly mingled with them and made them to use the
medicines. We visit them very often and give them training and teach them about
cleanliness. We are trying to educate them and change their dress code so as to make them to move with ordinary people who are isolating them. Yes our work paid fruits and some of them are trying to use the traditional Tamil wear saris. We are trying to bring them to our place of worship and make then feel they too can sit on par with others. We are able to make these changes We make them to sit with others in taking food in our premises and make them feel comfortable. When we have started this venture we felt very bad as they have made the premises so dirty. Now they are well refined in everything and now they are well trained in wishing others. With our humble beginning we are slowly making them to feel like other people. We have conducted their marriage as normally they are not used to that. Most of their people come and participated in the marriage service but their main grievance is that their marriage feast has not as expected as we have provided the Biriyani ( A rich Food presently available) and not their favourite item raw arrack. We are teaching them not to use arrack as that will harm their body. We are providing free medicines , food and now we are trying to provide shelter with hygienic environment. We are planning to open a Technical institute giving them training in sewing, typing and small technical trades. Also a home for the uncared where the neglected elders will be provided shelter, Food, medicine clothes etc. Give them a new change in their lifestyle.

Apart from Thiruvanmiyur we have identified many areas such as moped, Thirumullaivoil ,Medavakkam, Kottur, and many places.

Home for the Homeless
Why are people homeless?
The causes of homelessness are difficult to pin down. Many people assume that most people lose their homes because they abuse drugs or alcohol. But it’s not that simple. People get evicted from their homes because they cannot afford steep rent hikes. People lose their jobs and wind up on the streets. Single mothers show up at shelters with their children because they cannot afford to work and pay for day care. Other people end up homeless because they are too sick to work or were forced to flee an abusive home. Some people ran away as teenagers and cannot afford to live on their own. While everyone’s story is different, all homeless people have two things in common: They are extremely poor, and they have no permanent place to call home.
FREE HOUSING SCHEME FOR HOMELESS

The three most important needs of a man are food, clothes and house.
United nations organization has passed a resolution stating housing as a basic right of each and every individual. United Nations Organisation has formed a body to help each and every human in the world to live in a house which protects human from all dangers, calamities, seasons, cold, rain and etc. In our country more than 91%of population don’t have homes. Central government and State government are doing their best to provide homes to homeless. Still the Government couldn’t meet this basic need of the humanity. The majority of the Indian population are coolies in agriculture lands and they are given food grains as their wages with which they could not meet their daily needs. Majority of the urban population are labourers who could not have three times meals and are starving almost daily. If food itself is their dream means how much more the clothing and housing will be. About 9 % of the country’s population do not have the means of staying even in the rented house and they have to be contented with open sky as their roof. The ugliest part of the thing is they are on platforms near gutters surrounded by pigs and mosquitoes. These people are the first victims of deadliest diseases. Even though the Government has appointed Ministers and officers they could not provide this basic need because of the exploding population. The economic position of our country also plays an important role in achieving this. In countries like U.S.A., Govt. has enormous financial strength to provide homes to all their citizens. Very soon our nation will attain this stage. Until then we should assist the Govt. to achieve this
The Governments are always insisting the NG0’s to help them in providing homes to homeless. Especially the Gypsies (Narikurava`s) don’t have homes to live in Tamilnadu Area. Tamilnadu population crosses 100 million. 70% of the people living under un-protected huts made of coconut leaves.
Mosjos Healthcare research foundation have decided and planned to solve this homeless problem. Our team with efficient professionals has prepared projects to fulfill within ten years of time. Planning equally covers 29 districts of Tamilnadu to fulfill 90 projects. The project includes houses with suitable infrastructures of drainage, road, water, playground etc. We have selected some villages in and around Tamilnadu where people live in mud huts. We have planned to change their thatched houses into tiled houses by just changing their thatched roofs into tiled roofs or fire proof asbestos roof. In this case cost price in building a house becomes very low and we have planned to change 1000 in first phase. We are looking for sponsoring agencies for these projects which will give the uplifment for the deserving poorest people.
. We have identified a number of areas in various places and to finalise the area we have to purchase these plots. By executing this proposed project a number of families will get benefited .We look forward the approval of our project for the homeless people in Tamilnadu then we will expand our project to near by states in the near future and will be enlarged to our country. For the execution of this project we badly in need of financial assistance. We look forward the Government authorities early approval.

Need a old age home for these uncared people of the society

Street beggar
We have conducted free medical camps in number of villages at Neelankarai, waltax road, tiruvanmiyur kuppam, Akkur, Palayanoor, Mannivakkam, Edoori poodi,Ekatur near Navalloor, Jatkapuram village, thathanur, mettuthangal village and various villages near Padapai village. We found women breast feeding their children even at the age of five and this spoils the health of the mother very badly. We have advised them as they complain about body pain and leg pain and other complaints as our doctor feels this type feeding should be completely stopped by 11th month itself. This type of awareness we have to give to the people.
Apart from conducting medical camps in villages we have conducted medical checkup camps with free medicines for school students creating a medical awareness among the children that they their body and try to protect with preventive medicines. The Girl students are told about the needs of taking healthy food with iron contents as they are getting very weak after attaining age. HIV/AIDS
1981,the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US had issued the first warning about a rare form of lung problem among a small group of people which was later determined to be AIDS related. Since then, over 60 million (6 Crores) people have been infected and over 20 million (2 Crores) have died due to AIDS worldwide.
Currently there are over 40 million (4 Crores) people infected and living with HIV/AIDS globally. There is no cure only prevention. Education and awareness on HIV/AIDS is the cornerstone for prevention. It is our responsibility to be equipped with correct and unbiased information and also be engaged in equipping others with information and skills that would prevent further spread of the virus and also mitigate its impact.

What is HIV/AIDS?
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the cause of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
The virus after entering the human body progressively kills or damages the body's immune system destroying the body's ability to fight infections and certain cancers. People with AIDS can get life-threatening infections called opportunistic infections caused by microbes that do not cause any sickness in persons with normal immune function

HIV/AIDS by end on 2003 in India • An estimated 1,900,000 (19 Lakhs) women are currently living with HIV/AIDS • An estimated 1.2 lakhs children are infected and living with the virus in India• 85% of the infections are due to heterosexual transmission, with about 3% due to intravenous drug use, another 3% due to mother to child transmission, 2% due to transfusion of blood and blood products • Andhra pradesh, Chattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharastra, Manipur, Mizoram, Mumbai and Nagaland are high prevalence regions in the country • Tamilnadu has registered the highest number of cases in India - >52,000 (cumulative)

HIV is spread by..
Ø Sexual contact with an infected person
